Hollidays in NYC and Washington DC - 5

Hoje foi dia de comprar as passagens para Washington DC, por isso fomos até a Grand Central Station mas lá nos disseram que o melhor (mais barato) era em Port Authority Bus Station.
O resto do dia passamo-lo a passear pela zona de Greenwich e Soho, onde nos deparamos com as gravações de um vídeo promocional da candidatura de Nova Iorque aos Jogos Olímpicos de 2012.
"We need to buy tickets to Washington DC, so we went to the Grand Central Station only to find out that it was better (i mean cheaper) to go by bus. We bought the tickets in Port Authority Bus Station.
The rest of the day was spent in Greenwich and Soho, where a promotional video of NY2012 Olympics was being recorded".

Finalmente, e para isso tivemos que nos levantar bem cedo, conseguimos visitar a estátua da Liberdade e a Ellies Island. (O facto de estar a chover deve ter ajudado a ainda haver bilhetes).

Hoje o dia foi passado a visitar o Metropolitan Museum. Depois fomos até Times Square onde jantamos no Planet Hollywood.
"Today we spent all day in the Metropolitan Museum. Then we went to Times Square and had dinner in Planet Hollywood."

Decidimos começar pela Estatua da Liberdade, apesar de ser cedo (8 horas) já não arranjamos bilhetes, por isso aproveitámos estar naquela zona e subimos a Broadway em direcção á City Hall. Visitamos a Trinity Church, a Wall Street, o Ground Zero, a St. Paul Church, e o City Hall Park. Dali fomos até a ponte de Brooklin e seguimos para South St. Sea Port onde passamos o resto da tarde.
"We decided to start our tour with the Statue of Liberty, but despite the early hour (8 a.m.) we didn't get any tickets. So we went up the Broadway towards the City Hall. We visit Trinity Church, Wall Street, Ground Zero, St Paul Church and the City Hall Park. From there we go to the famous Brooklin Bridge and went to South St. Sea Port."

Às 8h e 20m partimos do aeroporto de Lisboa com destino ao aeroporto de Newark com escala em Londres (Heathrow). Finalmente, depois de cerca de 14 horas do voo e após passar pela “imigration” no aeroporto, chegámos aos EUA.
Apanhamos o comboio para NYC e fomos procurar o hotel. Quando finalmente fomos jantar já era bastante tarde, felizmente havia um Starbucks no térreo do hotel!
